Within the inclusion area, we work at an educational level with our users, and workshops for the community in general are held in order to promote awareness on the issue of disability. At the regional level, we focus on empowering young people through the program “Leaders in Disability” to form real change generators.
As for labor inclusion, we have the “Alma de Colores” project, which consists of a workshop on employment and social inclusion for people with disabilities. The workshop works with more than 24 people between 16 and 44 years of age, with different disabilities, with the objective of employing them in five different areas: crafts, sewing, bakery, organic gardening, and dining. Of these projects, the garden and the dining room are part of the Café Right project, carried out under the " Nutrire il Pianeta 2014" program in collaboration with other organizations.
The employees of Alma de Colores receive a fair income through a timely support for every product they deliver. They also receive benefits such as food, therapies, transportation, and interest-free loans for educational purposes and have access to a health fund with which they can use to meet their health care needs. The work is done with a philosophy of justice, inclusion and solidarity, which also extend to their products. The craft working with local seeds; The bakery makes whole-wheat bread using sourdough; seam is made with recycled fabrics; the garden promotes traditional plants; and the dining room serves natural and nutritious meals. We collaborate with other businesses with similar philosophies and organize education activities with the communities in which they are working.
