This area attends the physical rehabilitation of users that can be people with disabilities or people from the community that require physical therapy for some other reason (accidents, advanced age) and can't afford it. This work is done through the use of physical agents such as wind, water, light, heat, mechanical movements and other elements in order to achieve the correct development in the functions produced by the human body in which their correct or incorrect performance influence in its kinetics and movement. To achieve full rehabilitation, physiotherapy is necessary for a physical, psychological and social improvement, that's why this area works along with other areas such as occupational therapy, psychological and counseling, etc. The treatment includes a previous evaluation for each user and a physiotherapeutic diagnose, based on which the therapeutic goals will be set by the therapist along with the user. Physiotherapy plays a very important roll in the rehabilitation of people with disabilities since it focuses on the physical aspect in order to promote, mantain and increase their well being and quality of life and to adapt them for their social, family and labor reinsertion. Due to accessibility issues and lack of resources, some users living in the villages included on Centro Maya's coverage, therapies are not just provided at the center but also through home visits, therapies at distance and the mobilization of the therapists once a week to one of the villages located in the mountains, so that users living there and in the villages next to it can get their treatment.
