This area focuses on the physical rehabilitation of our participants. This work is done through the use of physical agents such as wind, water, light, heat, mechanical movements and other elements.
Physiotherapy plays a very important role in the rehabilitation of people with disabilities since it works on physical health to promote, mantain and increase their well being and quality of life and to adapt them for their social, family and labor reinsertion. It also allows them to gain more mobility and with this, more independence and autonomy. Treatment will depend on a previous evaluation for each participant and a physiotherapeutic diagnose which will be taken into consideration for the individual plan of each case in order to reach the goals that both the participants and therapists have set for short and long term.
Due to accessibility issues and lack of resources, some users living in the villages included on Centro Maya's coverage, therapies are not just provided at the center but also through home visits, therapies at distance and the mobilization of the therapists once a week to one of the villages located in the mountains, so that users living there and in the villages next to it can get their treatment.
