Users with disabilities receive rehabilitation therapy in order to assist them to achieve optimal psychological, physical and social functioning. At all times, social, environmental, political, biological and psychological factors are considered, since they affect their functionality in order to minimize the impact of disability on them and optimize their coping skills. Similarly, it works on the recovery of social and family roles and work in the process of acceptance of their disability. Also we serve people in the community who have a disability but not require psychological care and counseling. Usually, individuals or entire families seeking guidance or support to solve their personal and family problems, treat your mood, improve self-esteem or others who receive treatment through the application of clinical psychology. Centro Maya is part of the Departmental Network Referral for Victim Assistance Department of Sololá and is in contact with public entities to give support to people who have suffered sexual or domestic violence, the area of psychology is the greater involvement referred users with these entities, in collaboration with other when necessary. Thus psychological care is provided to victims to achieve psychological well-being after a traumatic experience. The Center also provides psychological support to parents and relatives of users during the process of acceptance of disability and the process of reintegration of the disabled person to family roles.
